| These three columns contain links to your (too slow and too big) "My Collection" page. Following these links should not show any links to tracks you have not already downloaded, but will be somewhat slow even with the speed advantage provided by this page. To follow Artist or Album links, you must first Log in to eMusic.com. DO NOT LOG IN WHEN getcollection.pl is getting your collection -- This will cause getcollection.pl to fail, as eMusic.com only allows one login at a time. | These columns lead directly to Artists and Album pages, not to your "My Collection" page. While these links will be somewhat faster, from these pages it is possible to inadvertently download tracks you've not previously downloaded, thus counting against your monthly subscription. It's not necessary to log in to follow these links, but logging in is required to download from these links. | |||
| Artist | Album | Direct Link To Artist Page | Direct Link To Album Page | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arturo Toscanini | Verdi: Aida (Disc 1) | Album Complete | Artist Page | Album Page |
| Verdi: Aida (Disc 2) | Album Complete | Album Page | ||
| Aston Magna | J.S. Bach: A Musical Offering | Album Complete | Artist Page | Album Page |
| Basque | Radiate | 1/11 Tracks | Artist Page | Album Page Warning! You have not yet downloaded all tracks for this album! |
(Please note that in this example only, the links in the first two columns don't work, as they require you to be logged in to eMusic and to have downloaded those albums. The links will work on the page the software produces for you..)
artist.csv and album.csv.
Artist.csv lists each Artist in your collection, showing the artist's emusic.com id, the url of the artist's page at emusic.com, and the artist's name, with one artist per line.
Album.csv lists each album in your collection, showing the album's emusic.com id, the url of the album's page at emusic.com, and the album's name, with one album per line. For each album, the data for the album's artist, as enumerated above, is also given.
These two files are formatted as "Comma Separated Values" or CSV format: each datum is enclosed in quotes, and each datum, except the final datum in an entity, is separated from the next by a comma followed by a tab character. The final datum is followed only by a newline separating it from the next entity. Any quotation mark in a datum (double quotes, not single quotes) is escaped by replacing it with two quotation marks: e.g., an album entitled A "Terrybell" Work would be output as the datum "A ""Terrybell"" Work". All HTML "character entities" are unescaped in the output.
Please note that Microsoft Excel will now read these CSV files correctly.
