Installing Get Collection

To install Get Collection, just unzip the downloaded .zip file to a directory of your choice.

Using Get Collection

Open a command shell window. Microsoft Windows users can do this by Clicking the "Start" button, then the "Run..." menu item, and then typing "cmd" (for users of Windows 2000 or XP) or "command" (for any version of Windows) in the text box.

At the command prompt, switch to the drive and directory to which you unziped Get Collection.

Then at the prompt, start Get Collection and give it your user name and password, specifying your eMusic.com user name with the -u switch and password with the -p switch, then press return.

GetCollection -u WhateverYourUserNameIs@YourDomain.tld -p YourPassword

Get Collection will then log in. You can watch its (rather verbose) progress in the command shell window.

If it completes successfully, it will create a directory named data, and put an html page named collection.html in that directory.

Open that html page and enjoy.

(For more help using GetCollection, type GetCollection at the prompt with no arguments or switches, or click here, for a detailed man page.)
